Ok so I’ve been MIA for while. Dude I’ve busy. Ok not really but it sounds good. What have I been “busy” doing? Well I had a lovely Thanksgiving, sorta. My buddy Marcia hosted a taco bar Thanksgiving at her lovely place in Grimes. The company was great, the food tasty good and I learned a new Margarita recipe. It would have been absolutely perfect except the night before we went to a awesome house party and I, well got my drink on. Hey it’s the holidays. Anywho, by the time I got to dinner my hangover was gone but I had a cold coming on full force.

So I’ve been sick.

Did I mention Kurtis was sick also? Poor little buddy, he got sick about the end of October just never recovered. He was so very sick and weak. Oh God. I miss him so very much. He was with me for the last eight years, through all the ups and downs. Always waiting for me when I got home, sharing that super big bed, and pouncing on my toes. I cried for a whole day.

Kurtis was the best kitty ever! He was my first pet, considering how much this has pained me, me may well have been my only pet. Kurtis is now hanging with Dad, that’s cool.

So I lost my best buddy.

As far as cycling my ‘season’ has officially come to an end. I wrapped it up with fun year-end shenanigans. The Tour De Lights ride was great this year with a nice turnout due to the extremely warm temps. Lea won for best Santa:

Steve came down for the Cranksgiving ride. Personally I didn’t ride that day. It was totally snowing and I have to draw the line somewhere. There was a lot of food gathered for a good cause and we partied late into the night.

Made another trip to Preston Minnesota for the Pumpkin Ride. A lot of people from DM made it up there. I must say my costumes got rave reviews! It was super cold riding Friday night, but it warmed up on Saturday. A long Halloween weekend with good friends. Can't beat that.

Capped of the season with the Big Wheel Rally. I didn’t have a big wheel this year, but like you need one to attend. Team Checker won the team challenge by raising $1626 for the Heart Connection Children’s Cancer Fund. The Big Wheel Rally bunch raised over $12000, pretty good for some drunken bikers. There were some pretty, um, creative get ups this year:

see the video below

So I finished the biking season and raised money for charity.

So all in all I guess I have been busy. On top of all that I voted and change won! Still waiting to what office I’ll get appointed to…..B.O. call me! Guess he’s busy too. Now the holidays are here and I’ve been guilted into going home to Michigan. Good times.

So Happy Holidays!!!
