Chris over at Rude Cactus recently blogged about Scare Tactics. It seems we are nation living in fear....of everything. At least that's my view of it. I mean geez this latest 'terror' Swine Flu the media is doing everything it can to get everyone all frenzied. Yet they always throw in a 'no need to panic' comment.
This last weekend I was laid up for like three days with a serious cold/flu thing. All the while I sat eating chicken soup I listened to this Swine Flu deluge. I didn't once think of running to my doctor or the nearest ER, even though I had all the symptoms and traveled to Texas recently. I did for the sake of my co-workers and fellow citizens stay home from work multiple days. Didn't leave my apartment for like for days!(yea, I'm still catching up on work) I'm much better now thanks. Steve called like everyday to see how I was doing, so sweet.
Basically it all boils down to what you should have learn as a kid: wash hands, cover your mouth when you cough and when your sick stay home. (oh and eat your vegetables!)
