Summer is over bring it on Fall Part 1

Long time no blogging, huh? Yea, I know what can I say I have no excuses. It's not like I have been busy, just lazy, stressed, anxious, and annoyed. Nothing has been going my way, really. For a while there things seriously went from bad to worst like overnight. They aren't better yet but at least jumping off a cliff is no longer on the list of options.
It was a long hot summer…..and not so hot. I feel like if I had slept through the whole summer it would have been just as well if not better. Oh my trip, you want to know about my trip. Doesn't everyone, well they did. Let's just say some day I will learn to keep my mouth shut. I went tell everyone about my trip and so by departure day I was sick with anticipation and worry. It would have been nice to have had some support. (the story of my life) But I couldn't even mention it to my family as they had already declared it super duper dangerous. For the most part it was ok. Would I do it again? Sure. Just next time I will focus more on the finances and less on the mapping details. To this day I don't know how I thought I was gonna do that on a shoe string budget. It could be done….just not by me. Nevertheless, I bike all the way to just north of St Louis before I threw in the towel.
My luck being what it is it was hotter than blazes. It wasn't as scary as I thought camping alone. But did I mention that it was so freaking hot. Matter a fact with used my stealth camping skills and didn't pay for a single night of camping! More money for a hotel and I surely would have gone further. But like I said it was hot and when I rolled into this town and the lady at the convenience store told me there was no bar in town "it's a dry county" I was so ready to go home.

Thank good heavens I have one super duper bff, Sarah. She drove all the way down there, the very next day to pick my but up. Oh by the way one month later it was much cooler....figures.

I was thoroughly disappointed that I did not complete the entire trip. The rest of my summer suffered dramatically due to my lack of accomplishment.
