Wikity Wikity Wikity Whack!

Recently this Wikileaks thing has been all up in the news. In the last week or so there were some documents leaked that made me think how did that happen and I’m not surprised. For instance how did a 22 yr old Specialist get access to these super confidential records? From the news description he just ‘got in’ downloaded and burned a cd (all while claiming he was listening to Lady Gaga). Then off the information went to nonessential personnel.

As someone who has served in the military with classified clearance this just doesn’t add up. Somebody was not on the j-o-b. What kinda lax security do we have going on nowadays? Should a Specialist really have that type of access with no supervision? I think not people are crazy as it is. Some music cd’s you can’t even copy to your personal computer and then burn to a disk. But super confidential government information….sure why not.

The news and government officials are stating how the comments could have grave diplomatic consequences. Some of those ‘comments’ were just catty/snarky remarks that should be put in writing to begin with. Publishing it made it a kin to tabloidish gossip. This does not surprise me as I have always believed all those ‘officials’ from Obama on down are just people. Camera on, they say what everyone wants to hear, fake the funk. Camera off, they get real and dirty.

As for the Wikileaks dude Julian Assange, way to jump into the hot seat. Wikileaks stated that it would be releasing big bank information in January; my first thought was nice that they wait til after the holidays. My second thought was hope somebody doesn’t knock off that Julian dude before then. Then this morning the news is Julian Assange has been added to Interpols ‘most wanted red alert we’re coming for ya’ list. Dude I hope you got your ducks in order because it’s going down. Also I hope you gave a copy of that big bank info to someone else to release, because my interest is totally peaked now!
